I love helping people folks. I think it can be border line obsession. I like learning and reading and I like knowing something that can benefit me. So it might not sound too surprising to know that I like sharing my information as well, so today’s topic is about MOTIVATION!!!
How often do we say we want to do something or we have the intention to learn or implement something in our lives that we hold off til a later date and time? Then after we have thought about it, we feel stupid or bad about the decision that we made to delay that action that could have made either a little or big difference in our current situations.
If you can relate to this, you probably know the next step is wanting to kick yourself in the BUTT for not doing what you said you would. Its like my grandmother used to say “Say what you mean and mean what you say”… I have found that statement to be very true (even if i do choose to ignore it sometimes) The fact of the matter is, no matter how much you decide to ignore the truth, the truth always comes to light.
So I did some research and some homework and have decided to write a brief article on how (from this day forth) you can wake yourself up OH SLEEPY ONE and get and stay motivated. Don’t worry you’re not alone and you’re not the first person to let things slide.
If you are anything like me, you probably go up and down with motivation, especially if you are going through some things in your life that stresses you out, and you can’t focus. Some of us may have the intention to do great things but fear and lack of motivation keeps us back, TREMENDOUSLY!
Through my research I have found that there are many different ways to get and stay motivated. I’m going to keep this short and simple. No need to write a novel to get my point across. CONFIDENCE… I love this word. LOL. Keep in mind your accomplishments. Think about those things that you followed through on,, and then think about how you felt when everything was said and done. You felt on top of the world right?! See, the more you accomplish and succeed, the more you will believe in yourself.
Stay the course. Giving up can often seem as though its the easiest way out, but I’m here to tell you that is not the case. For example, I recently made the decision to work from home to help support my family and not stay broke for the rest of my life. Do you know how hard that is!!! You have to put yourself in the mind frame to take on challenges unknown to you and make the decision to make it through no matter what, heck my family depends on this, just the thought of this is simply CRAZY to me!!
I know from experience that you need to push through the crankiness and the laziness and keep going. By you going those extra miles, all that laziness and tiredness will be distant memories far far away.
I want to also input deep into your brains, the thought of you going easy on yourselves. I know this first hand because I tend to push myself over the limits. But success doesn’t come over night people. When you have a goal in mind, work hard towards your goal, but please, don’t kill yourselves.
While you’re at it, make sure you have a purpose for what you’re doing. Make sure you are giving a reason to your goal. Why are you going to the grocery store? Why do you go to work? Why are you cooking, cleaning, or doing the laundry? When you know why you are doing something, that in itself keeps you motivated because now you have a purpose to get out of bed, now you know why you do what you are doing.
Stress kills!!! This one hits close to home. I have 3 kids, I have been $3,000 behind on rent before and I have had health issues. And working from home doesn’t necessarily make the stress go away. If you have children like me, or maybe its your parents, grandparents, etc. etc, make sure you look at them, and think “I want to be here for them.” The healthier and less stressed you are, the better for everyone.
Lastly my friends, do you know one of the rewards from staying steadfast on the path to your goals? EXPERIENCE!! You learn more and understand more. You will come across techniques and knowledge that enpower you and in turn, keep you excited and motivated. Knowledge is a great way to sharpen your skills and your mind. The knowledge that you’ve gained you can teach someone else one day. And in my quest to become financially independent within the next few months, I’m going to use my own advice and stay persistent. So get out there and find something that you’re passionate about and make some things happen.
